Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
These terms govern your use of routebook.io ("routebook", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them together with our privacy policy.
1. Operator
routebook.io is operated by Simon Abplanalp, c/o abplanalp-it, Schmittenweg 7, 5707 Seengen, Switzerland. Contact: support@routebook.io. Further details are in the imprint.
2. The service
routebook lets you record your flights and hotel stays, see them on a map and in statistics, and share a public profile if you choose to. The free plan includes unlimited manual logging. The Pro plan adds automation such as automatic flight lookup, flight tracking and imports. The features of each plan are described on the website and in your account settings at the time you use them.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if that is higher, to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secret and for activity under your account. Tell us at once if you suspect misuse.
- The information you give us, such as your email address, must be accurate.
- You may delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion removes your data as described in the privacy policy.
4. Pro subscription, prices and payment
- Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription. The price, currency and billing period are shown before you pay. Prices are set in US dollars; where an approximate amount in your local currency is shown, it is for information, and your card issuer or Stripe may convert the charge.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. The subscription is paid in advance for each billing period and renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time in Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep Pro until then. Apart from the right of withdrawal in section 5 and where the law requires otherwise, payments for a period already started are not refunded.
- We may change prices for future billing periods. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a change applies to you, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
- Pro access granted free of charge (for example through an invitation or as a gift) ends on the date stated when it was granted, and nothing is charged.
5. Right of withdrawal for consumers
If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from your first Pro purchase within 14 days of the purchase without giving any reason. To do so, send a clear statement to support@routebook.io before the 14 days have passed. We will refund the full amount paid for that purchase within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, using the payment method you used, and your account returns to the free plan. For consumers in Brazil, this includes and extends the 7-day period of art. 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code.
6. Your content
- The flights, stays, notes, photos and other content you add remain yours.
- You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process and display that content only as far as needed to provide the service to you, including showing it publicly where you turn on your public profile or create a share link.
- You are responsible for what you make public. Do not publish other people's personal data without their consent.
- You can export your data and delete it at any time, as described in the privacy policy.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for anything unlawful, or to infringe the rights of others;
- access the service by automated means (scraping, bots) or overload it, beyond what our published features allow;
- work around plan limits, security measures or access controls, or use another person's account;
- upload malicious code, or content that is unlawful, offensive or misleading.
8. Third-party data and accuracy
Flight schedules, statuses, aircraft details, airport data, hotel information and exchange rates come from third-party sources and may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. Distances, durations, CO₂ figures and other statistics are estimates. Do not rely on routebook for travel or safety decisions; always check with your airline or hotel. Notices about possible flight compensation are generated automatically and are not legal advice.
9. Links and partners
routebook contains links to other websites, including affiliate links to partners such as AirHelp and Kiwi.com. Those services are provided by the partners under their own terms; we are not responsible for them. The imprint explains how affiliate links work.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep routebook available and your data safe, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may develop, change or discontinue features. If we remove a substantial part of what you pay for in Pro, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of your current billing period.
11. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. In all other cases, and as far as the law permits, our liability is excluded, in particular for indirect or consequential damage, lost profits and data you could have saved through export. Rights that you have under mandatory consumer protection law are not affected.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using routebook and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, after a warning where that is reasonable. If we close a paid account without such a reason, we refund the unused part of the current billing period.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We will tell you about material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you may cancel and delete your account before then; if you keep using routebook after that date, the new terms apply.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The place of jurisdiction is the operator's place of business in Switzerland. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts there.
15. Languages
These terms are available in several languages. The translations are provided for convenience; if they differ, the English version prevails.
